Report written by Michelle Fricker

The Skybound league team had an amazing weekend at the second qualifying event. In the 15-16 girls league 3 event Esmee Warner made her debut to the league, and she did it in style! Despite being incredibly nervous, Esmee pulled on her wealth of competitive experience to perform beautifully in both her set and vol, scoring 77.9 and finishing in 21st place. This earns Esmee 4 points towards qualifying for league finals. Not a bad start Esmee, well done! In the same category it was also great to see Tabby Podger back competing again. She performed two solid routines, scoring 70.36 and placing 44th, giving her a good platform to build on for the next event.

In the 17-18 girls league 3, Leah White had a personal best performance by a long way! Leah has been working very hard to improve the lines in her routines and this clearly paid off. She scored 77.995 and placed an amazing 10th - 16 places higher than the last event! This earns Leah 20 points towards qualifying for league finals so well done Leah!

In the 19+ league 3 event, Lisa Borthwick had another successful competition, qualifying through in 4th place with two great routines and a score of 81.415. A few mistimed take offs in her final dropped her to 6th however, her prelim rounds have earnt her another 50 points for league finals. This should see Lisa comfortably make League Finals in November, so a huge well done to her! Unfortunately Michelle Fricker had an argument with the end mat on her controlled warm up which saw her heading to A&E rather than getting on to compete. She was more than a little frustrated but is aiming to do a better job of staying on the cross at the September event!

On Sunday, Amy Thomas took part in the league 2 19+ event and performed 2 great routines, scoring 79.135 and placing 20th. This scores her 5 points towards the league finals. This is a solid base for her now to start increasing her tariff and we look forward to seeing her half out back for the next comp!

Well done to all! Your commitment and hard work is paying off! And yes Leah, I am, and so is Tony, a #proud coach. (how did I not notice you put that sign there?!)

P.S Many thanks to Lisa who stayed to marshall the event on Sunday so that we could all enter.
